This is a 1996 'Apple 2000' Maestro which I advertised a few weeks ago as a runner but it's now failed its MOT so I need rid as I have no space. For spares or repair - I am advertising at £50 as it comes with some parts including including 2 x rear suspension struts/springs, door mirrors, lamp units, warm air intake box, exhaust downpipe, parcel shelf, carpets, carpet edge trims, wheel trims and numerous electrical components, gaskets, seals and service parts.
Also has a pair of correct roof bars.
The main problem is just before the MOT I found rust in the sills, which I had no time to get welded so I filled them - the tester didn't like it. Failure points were:
Parking brake efficiency below requirements
Brakes imbalances across rear axle
Parking brake lever has no reverse travel
Rear brake binding offside
Front brake application uneven
Front CV joint gaiter split
Excessive corrosion to outer sill and riser
Rear sill modified which significantly reduces the original strength [this was the last-minute rust repair]
Advisory: engine oil leaking [not sure where from, probably sump as I replaced other gaskets before]
Other faults:
Various minor trim faults on the interior
Dent along join of front NS wing/valance
Front wheel camber is slightly off vertical
Engine runs and was used as a daily driver until around Feb 2016, thereafter used occasionally. 127,543 miles. Located in High Wycombe HP10. Please ring 07813115903
