There is to be a new all Rover based camping weekend and it's first gathering is this year.
I have been in constant contact with one of the organisers since it went from being an idea to an entity all it's own.
Details below:.
There is an "All Rover" event planned for this year.
It is being organised by the Rover Sports Register and the "Joint Rover Clubs" all Rovers are welcome.
I don't think it would be quite complete without a representative or two from the ARG period do you?.
So all you Rover badged Monty and Maestro owners, check your diary, and see if this one is for you.

Rovercamp 2012 the idea is for an informal camping/caravanning weekend where the only pre-requisite is an interest in Rovers.
Date - Weekend of 27th-29th July 2012.
Location - Lower Lacon Caravan Park near Wem in Shropshire. The park is family oriented with restaurant/bar swimming pool/shop etc. Full details at http://www.llcp.co.uk
I have arranged the following prices for the weekend £20.00 per a night, for a 120 sq meter pitch with electric hook up, or £10.00 a night if two small tents are on one pitch. We will be in our own area near the facilities.
The site will keep the option open for us till Christmas, by which time I need to confirm our attendance. So... how many people are interested, I already have a few people who want to come with tents and caravans. This is not RSR only, any Rover enthusiast is welcome so please pass this invite on to anyone else. If we get enough people we may be able to organize a group barbeque or similar.
would be great to get lots of coupes there ! . common dust off that ring camping gear u oldys .
and this would be a great weekend for all members new and old.
and it wont just be 200/400's it will be p5's p6's sd1s . anything and everything rover !

Hi Mal,
thanks for your enquiry, I am the person in the RSR who was trying to see
if there was any interest in a Rovercamp weekend next year. The Joint
Rover Clubs is a collection of Rover Clubs with the aim of working
together to promote the Rover marque and also to benefit from each other's
experience, so I asked them if there was any interest.
Following on a discussion at a rally last year, the topic was raised of
'doing something different' maybe with a more family focus.
As a result I decided to try and organise Rovercamp 2012 the idea is for
an informal camping/caravanning weekend where the only pre-requisite is an
interest in Rovers.
Paul.

I have had a good response from the various Rover Clubs about Rovercamp
2012 so I have confirmed the booking. I have set up a dedicated page at
http://www.thersr.co.uk/rovercamp2012
which gives full details inc location and how to book, also the opportunity
to sign in so we can have some idea about who is coming.
Can you please circulate this info through your contacts.

the message that if anyone wants to come along they have to book direct
with the campsite quoting 'rovercamp2012' to get the discounted prices.
