  • NW Area - Revived Great North Run 26/4/15

The NW Area will be undertaking a scenic drive around and through the picturesque Trough of Bowland in Lancashire on 26th April. The route is approx. 65 miles and the start/end point is in Dunsop Bridge - claimed to be the geographical centre of Great Britain.

26th April is also the FBHVC's 'Drive it day' for 2015, and the run would be a perfect opportunity to dig out your classic after winter hibernation.

The run is completely non-competitive. A suggested route is provided. Run in convoy or do your own thing. The itinerary includes two hours to 'do your own thing' in Settle.

Attendance in a Maestro/Montego is optional. Any vehicle is welcome.

We will meet in Dunsop Bridge (BB7 3BB) for a 10:00 start. We should finish there between 15:00-16:00.

If you want to attend, indicate your intetest by replying below...

Is this still happening or not, Rich? This thread reads as though it will only be the two of us !

If I know it's still 'on' I can get the car taxed and sort out somewhere to stay.

The weather looks to be dry - if a little chilly - on Sunday!

                Sorry to be missing this.

I'm really sorry to be missing this as I'm organising a Drive It Day event at Cowley.

Have fun and post some pics

We had an excellent time yesterday, and the sun shone all day.

On the run we had; Rover 114SLi, Rover 820Se, MG TF, Triumph Stag, MG Maestro EFi, Austin Montego 1.6HL and a Peugeot 205GT.

Below are a small selection of pictures.

Glad it was good. Always enjoyed it in the past. Will get involved next time hopefully. Haven't been on the forums for a while so didn't see it coming.

I still think this is by far the best event on the calendar. We had a really enjoyable day on Sunday, so thanks to those who planned it.

More of this sort of thing!
