  • Engine and Gearbox paint

    Hi all.
I'm planning on giving my engine block a new coat of red paint. A quick search on t'internet reveals quite a range of prices and types of paint available. Any recommendations? Obviously it'll be red.
Then on to the Gearbox. When I did the gearbox on a mini I used etch primer and then silver. I'm in two minds whether to do the same or leave the natural colour as it's not cleaned up too badly.
    Any thoughts?

    Cheers,
    Ian

I used Halfords red engine paint on my Turbo. Not brilliant, but not bad either. Applied with a brush and needed 2-3 coats to get a decent coverage. Left the gearbox natural as I think thats the best - as long as it is completely clean!

I bought some stuff off Amazon in the end, appears to be OK but only time will tell...
I agree, I'll try to leave the gearbox in it's naked clean self.
