Plugged in my fast check to check all but the battery was flat even though I had charged it overnight, will try again with another battery, even the inertia switch was wired to the alarm

Nice to see you back on with it...I'm sure those alarms and immobilisers only ever inconvenienced the rightful owner...

Ta John, was most inconvenient to me lol, it was one of those you had to put the key into a slot each time you tried to start it.

Had a quick look today to check all the sensors etc.all working but no spark, so either rotor arm or a dead ecu. Have also put new fuel relays on it. Will change rotor arm and ecu next time and buy another battery as my other spare is also knackered after leaving it connected to my sons turbo with the boot open.

After 15 years in slumber its alive, was a dead ecu. Needs a service, cambelt change so that's the next thing and to get the original ecu repaired

Water pump, oil and air filter found in my spares, cambelt and pinto tensioner sourced. Oil and plugs bought, antifreeze found, vacuum pipe bought. Will hopefully be stripping it down tomorrow.

Excellent! If you need another ecu, it is possible that I might have one, only problem is I don't have an engine to try them on yet....

Thanks, might take you up on that. I do know I have a few somewhere so while I'm looking for the waterpump gasket as it wasn't in the box I'm hoping to find the ecu stash. I've found 3 fuel ones for efis and 2 fuel ones for Turbos so getting nearer lol

Found the gasket, put new plugs in and vacuum pipe, starts on the button and moved under its own steam, brakes are binding so that to fix quite soon, I believe its the rears binding so an easy job but I will free up all. Rear exhaust box is blowing so I will have a stainless steel one made up, well 3, one for this, one for my other efi and one for my sons

Centre console needs changing but I have a couple in my spares. Old and newer models, all lights now working. Indicators, wipers now working, hazards only working one side but an easy fix. Boot lock very stiff as is the fuel flap release so those to fix. Front leccy windows now also working, be it a bit slow, but the passenger side switch has been put in upside down for some reason

And got nicolette chatting, 54,000 miles so happy at that. Both my main displays have issues with the display lamps and stress fractures so will have to fix that.

All parts needed have turned up now, cambelt etc to change next. Not that straight forward as the alternator is at the back of the engine and I have to modify the belt tensioner from a Ford pinto engine. Hopefully no problems with the waterpump bolts as they're a bit fragile sometimes
