This may be a bit boring, but is important, nevertheless. When you joined the forum, you were asked to complete a form where you supplied some personal details. Under the terms of the recent GDPR - yes even we, as a classic car club, are affected by the General Data Protection Regulations - you have the right to request that you are "forgotten", if you don't want us to retain those details. As was explained in the recent newsletter sent to subscribing members, the club commit to not passing your personal details to a thrid party for any reason whatsoever. We also have very strict rules if your details are passed to other committee members to enable them to carry out their role, to ensure that your details are being handled fairly and lawfully.
As a forum user, you are normally marked as a "Free member". If you subscribe to the club, then for the duration of your subscription, your details are marked as a "Paid Member". However, if your subscription lapses, then your record returns to being marked as a "Free Member". In the past, it was a requirement that if the subscription remained lapsed for a period of three months, then the users record would be deleted entirely. However, under the new environment, it is only the subscription details that could be removed, as the user concerned may wish to continue as a "Free Member" of the forum.
There may be circumstances, however, where you wish to request that your personal record is removed from our database, whether or not you are a subscribing member. In this situation please send an email to membership@maestro.org.uk stating the reasons for your request. Once the record has been deleted, you will be advised of the situation and you may continue to view the general sections of the forum, but you would be unable to create or reply to a post unless you rejoined the forum again.
