Hello, to all club members. Having not driven a Montego since 1988 on the 13th of June i became the proud owner of a 1993 Montego estate 2.0 LXI in BRG. The 190 mile drive home was without incident other than leaving the original petrol cap on the forecourt after my first fill.
My first priority is to fix the tailgate wiring harness which is showing signs of distress with the wiper only working with the tailgate shut. I'm guessing this is supplied by one of the broken wires making contact with the tailgate closed. I notice the club spares list contains wiring harnesses for Montego estates but only for those with an early VIN number. The front n/s central locking isn't working along with the n/s interior light. The bulb looks ok and there is power to the fitting as i found out to my cost by blowing my first fuse. I'm wondering if there is a connection (pardon the pun). Notwithstanding these little niggles i'm more than happy with the car and proud to be it's new owner. Well thats all for now. Look forward to seeing you at the shows

Hi and welcome to the club and for a return to Montego ownership! I remember seeing your car for sale and it looked very smart in the pics so I hope you are happy with it. Any niggles your car has there are people here that can help you.

    Cheers,

    Matt

Thank you one and all for the welcome. My username does indeed imply i have zephyrs and indeed zodiacs and they are of the MK3 variety. Too many in fact and the Montego purchase is a change of emphasis and general reduction of the fleet.
When i have a better handle on the Montego issues and made sure it isn't something obvious i could fix myself i'll no doubt be asking for help

Nice, my first Zephyr was dark blue, the second light green, the third white and my Zodiac was black. I then went on to vauxhalls, a PB velox and three PC cresta's. I'm showing my age a bit here
Good mk 3's are fetching money now especially Zodiacs
