Tailgate Harness

Hi Everyone,
I'm sure i had a part number written down somewhere for a 1993 Montego 2.0LXi estate tailgate harness (main) but can't find it. I'd appreciate a reminder if anyone knows the part number. My diy repair to the existing is about to give way - (again)

You have several options for tailgate wiring. All of it is no longer available (NLA) from Rimmer Bros. In the picture this is how the wiring is arranged:

(5) YMN 10017 Harness for rear speakers
(4) YMV 10020 Rear lamps/loadspace lamps
(2) YMN 10016 Rear number plate lamp, CDL, wiper motor
(1) YMN 10019 Earth for heated rear window.

You could make this up using wire from Autosparks or Vehicle Wiring Products provided you have suitable terminal blocks. Later Montegos/Rover made use of Econoseal connectors for multi plugs, for example.

Hi everyone,
does anyone know the part number for a 1993 Montego estate tailgate harness retaining bracket - or indeed have a new one for sale. It rivets to the hinge itself and the harness runs through it thereby stopping it getting trapped when closing the tailgate. My original is so badly rusted, if reused, it would cut into the new harness very quickly

This is from EPC Legacy for Montego Estate 86-88:

HAM 4260, Harness assembly-supplementary-radio to rear speakers-tailgate, 1off
JPC 3076, Sheath-convoluted, 1 off
ADL 2138, Harness-tailgate, 1off
HAM 3826, Tube-harness, 1off
