Maestro - TV action car
Hopefully the first and only time my Maestro is driven by a stunt double, even if it was only at 50mph. Overall, it was good, but it's not something I'd recommend too often. There were too many grips with tool belts near to the car to relax.

Speedo drive 1.3 four speed. Avoid my mistake.
Many owners may know this, but I found out by experience. If you remove the cable, make sure the drive is a tight fit.
I think someone had removed an o-ring from the end of the speedo cable, which meant that when I removed it in the dark, the drive didn't come out with the cable and fell...

A distributor from A-Series Spares (59D A+ electronic) and a carburettor rebuild using the SU (Burlen) kit sorted the dangerous flat spot just above idle that was its only real fault. 1.3 Maestro winter fixes
After a weekend spent removing a 1990s alarm and some strange reversing sensors and making good the loom, the time arrived to tackle the job we'd been putting off: the wheel arches.
The fronts weren't too bad, but it was cheaper to get one new wing (randomly from Amazon) and one good second...
