I have a new DRC8908 unit but I dont know if that’ll do it. Presumably the wipers have a switch to signal to the control unit that it has reached the end of the cycle. Does anyone know if this is fixable e.g. a contact cleaner up perhaps, or if I’ll potentially need to look for a new wiper motor? Matthew

I need a distraction whilst I solve all my running issues. I noticed the relay for the interior light courtesy delay timer relay is missing. It would be nice to find a replacement.

I was looking at the workshop manual and it all seems rather clever in its operation, but it doesn’t help me in finding the right 4 pins so I’ve relay to fit. Does anyone know of an aftermarket one I can buy?

my understanding of the circuitry is this… again, please correct me if this is wrong. I was scratching my head on this for ages.

Permanent live goes to interior light +ve terminal

Bulb negative terminal goes to 3 way switch with positions:

Earthed - manually switches lights on

Not earthed - light off

Switched earth - doors and relay

For option 3 - delay courtesy light timer

Door is opened which closes switch to earth - light goes on. Also triggers relay by charging capacitor in relay - Pin 86 maybe?

Relay gets constant power to pin 30

Relay is grounded on pin 85

As capacitor discharges over a few seconds the circuit with pin 85 earth breaks and light goes off

If headlights/sidelights are on … somehow pin maybe 86 doesn’t charge capacitor so interior lights go straight off when the door shuts and the circuit is therefore open

I’m guessing here so if anyone is an electrical expert please do correct this. Where can I find a suitable relay? Matthew
