Northern shows.

Hopefully everyone is looking forward to getting out to a few shows this year. What with one thing and another Andrew Stokell will not be able to organise the Northern shows this year, so I am going to be looking after them. After looking through the calendar and the events listed in Monstro, I've realised that there were some clashes and some events that aren't happening. I've put a list of possible events together, but before booking club stands, need to know how many people are likely to be going to each show. If anyone has any other ideas on shows, please let me know. I had already booked tickets to some of these, but can switch if a majority of members fancy another show

May 7/8 "Total Retro" near Kendal https://www.totalretroshow.co.uk/. a large event, I seem to remember mixed opinionson it last time the club had a stand there. A much smaller alternative is the NERC show in Washington on the 8th, free entry for exhibitors & you get to look around their workshops, event link is on facebook, so I've snaffled picture of the flyer for non fb users !

I shall use this thread this year to let people know which events I am going to if anyone wants to join me. Usually at short notice I am afraid. I have been a member of NECPWA since 2015 and go to any of there events I can get to. Always at interesting locations and you get into Beamish Museum for free twice a year and its very cheap to join. I would recommend anyone in the North East to join up. Also I will definitely be attending Teesside airshow this year, should be a cracking day. Also get in for free. The next (and last) show on the northern calendar is the Sunderland and district classic vehicle society end of season show at Ryhope engines museum. Is anyone planning to attend? It is usually an excellent show, the museum itself is very interesting, but being the end of october in the North East, you'll need more than a t shirt unless you plan to spend all day in the museum.... https://www.sunderlandclassicvehicles.org/events

A few photos from Ryhope, the pumping engine in the museum is rated at 100bhp and is a good demonstration of the 'torque is the important figure' theory!

Never did get to talk to the owner. Where the Elan is parked was usually where the Morgan owners club parked and just round the corner from that was the Ford Probe owners club. never seem so many.
