  • Are replacement trackrod end boots available?

Annoyingly my taper joint splitter has torn the trackrod end boots. As these are new joints, I don't really want to scrap them just because of the torn boot. Anyone know if I can get just the boots so that I can repair them?

Most 'proper' garages that do MOTs should have a stock of them too, or any good motor factors. When you fit it, try to get as much extra grease in as you can, some manufacturesrs are rather mean with the lubricant....

Not used them but these seem to have a good variety of them

Since the MOT started to look at split boots as a fail there is now a big after market in replacement "boots".

I have used my local motor factors and ebay to source replacements in the past. You need the top and bottom diameters of the damaged boot then match the replacement.

You don't usually get the metal bands/clips as fitted on the originals. They usually supply a couple of simple cable ties but they do appear to work ok.

          Regards, Ian

Thanks guys! Was a bit concerned about the possible lack of clips, but if cable ties will do, looks like this is the route to take.
