Surviving Maestro & Montego Register by VIN Number

    Surviving Maestro & Montego Register by VIN Number

    It has been suggested, and I think it'd be a very good idea to create a register of remaining Maestro & Montegos on the forum by VIN number. It would be nice to know who has the oldest and newest surviving models etc. We only need the last 6 numerical digits of the VIN, as we don't want to display the full VIN number publicly. Ledbury & others, will have different formats but do still add them if you wish.

    Therefore, if you would like your car to be included in the list, please reply below in the following format:

    VIN (last 6 digits) / Year registered / Maestro or Montego / Shell type / Engine & Transmission / Model / Forum username

    For example:

    100001 / 1985 / Montego / Saloon / 2.0 Petrol Manual / HLS / ROVERFAN

    Please stick to this format so that you can be easily added. Let's see how many cars we still have out there!

    The second post will contain the register, and I will try and update it as often as I can.

      my old maestro the engine sounds good but body has turned to dust mostly complete 207987/1984/maestro/hatchback/1.3 petrol manuel/base/bigdave

                Does anyone know if Maestro build numbers are aligned with Montego build numbers? I am wondering whether I need to separate them.

                  pretty sure they are not, one of the letters on the first bit of vin is Maestro/Monego

                    Which is why it's maybe not a great idea to post the last six digits, the first eleven are easy to work out having the vehicle info, body style, year etc.. A safer method would be to miss out the last two. If you don't mind your full vin on a public forum then no issues. I'm just over cautious!!

                        PS to answer the above post the fifth digit will be an E for a Montego or a C for Maestro.
