  • 1991 MG Montego 2.0i

Latest project and the last one i'm taking on but couldn't refuse really
The car was being used as a donor for another car by a forum member. I agreed to remove the turbo engine that a previous owner had half inserted in the engine bay, remove the dash and put it into another car and show how to do a headlining in exchange for this. I have the headlining to do to complete the deal when back from holiday
    As arrived

I have a complete interior to pick up soon, I also have an engine, gearbox and all wiring needed to complete. I also have somewhere a facelift ECU
The boot has been leaking water as it has quite a lot of surface rust on the boot floor and the spare wheel boss is missing.
      Updates to follow

Looks like you have a good base for a tidy car there Jeff. Good luck with the build!

          Thanks Pete
Yeah it is tidy, not going to be a concourse car but I should be able to make it useable

As said above does look to be a very tidy car & well saved. Mine had rust in the same place on the lower wheelarch but on the offside. From what I can see of the seats they look to be in a very tidy condition too.

Seat aren't too bad Andy. No rear seats or headrests but as said I have a complete interior coming. Will use the best of the front seats.
Doors have minor rust on the them but I do have 2 good BRG doors in my spares if I need them

And it's the last one Ed, I have enough to last me awhile and I need other things to do and I'm getting little time to myself or my Mrs.
I have 4 projects on the go now including my son's turbo and this will be the last

Understandable Jeff. We all need to draw the line somewhere.

That's very true Peter. I know a lot of people and I do get offered cars.
But hopefully no more. I turned down 2 last year but this one doesn't need too much and won't cost much to put back on the road and I couldn't resist.
Seems an honest car and would have probably been completely stripped and scrapped. This is instead of the silver MG Monty that I had to scrap.

I have this to finish and get road worthy for my son who bought this off Mat. Then I can work in this car, my 1.6 and put my sons turbo on the back boiler for a while, shame as i'm making progress on it but I want him to be involved with it again. The red digidash will have to wait till im ready

It now runs but not sweetly yet
