Well never done that yet but as my mum had Dementia and my dad had Alzheimer's when they passed away you never know in the future. I probably have one or both to look forward to in later life so maybe be doing that if I'm still working on Chris's cars. I've already forgotten many things about Montego's so I'm getting there.

That's a scary thought! You'd have to forget quite a lot about Montegos before your level of knowledge was down to that of most people though. Mind you, from what I've seen Alzheimer's/Dementia doesn't seem to bear any relation with how much thinking people did in the past, which I think is one of the worst things about it...fingers crossed that we don't go down with it...

                Getting there slowly
Put three gallons of fuel in, connected up battery and we finally have a fuel flow. Still non starting so using my testers it found a fault in the coil. Replaced the multifunction unit and the lights came on and now have a healthy spark, still non starting.
Tested the injectors next for fuel flow and nothing, not pulsing so I now have that to look at.
Removed the injectors and yeah non pulsing as nothing coming out so I will have to read up on any possible causes

Did more research last night and tested again from my fast check this morning. No power to the injectors and the hazard lights light up on the dash so it's possibly an earthing issue, unfortunately it's behind the dash so that's coming out in the next couple of days

Unfortunately it wasn't that. but they did need a clean up The pump now primes, the stepper moves, the pump is pumping fuel when turning over, but the injectors are not doing anything. I tested one with a multimeter and there is resistance so they should work so I started stripping back the wiring. According to the Haynes book of lies which should cover the later models, the wiring is a different colour , it's never easy is it
With my fast check when I press injectors the light should come on and put a live to them so the pulse, but I'm getting nothing at all. All else is as it should be so maybe a wiring issue? This is why I'm starting to open the wiring up, unless someone has an idea what the problem is or something else I can look at ?

Lay mans wiring diagram and inside a multifunction unit, I will check everything before buying a new one from Rimmers as they're £132 each and I'm not sure yet that both are faulty

It's finally running after 5 years and was a mixture of issues. Main relay contacts dirty, crack in a wire to the injectors, bad earth and one injector stuck. Who in their right mind would only put different colours on the end of the wiring. Now starts and runs and I've tidied up the wiring I stripped out so will have to put the dash back in next time. It's quite knackered with cracks everywhere but I do have a better last spare so will put that in after i've removed the interior and headliner.
Interior needs to come out as welding need to be done to the rear box sections. Headlining is torn and knackered so I may as well do that while i'm at it and changing the sunroof.
Two happy guys as I sent over a video to Chris
Now it's on my drive the pace has quickened a lot now as i have no other projects on the go. Green MGZT 260 I've now sold, black 260 is finished and on the road so I'm playing with this car.
Still loads to do so it should keep me busy for a month or six

Interior removed and now all ready to start grinding out rust and continue practicing my welding. It's mainly the rear box sections, a few things on the sills and I'm hoping to tidy up previous welding bodges.
