  • Ello all!

Hi the names Adam and from the 10th january this year i purchased an MG Montego 2.0i which i think has been on here before in the photo section.

I first saw the car on new years eve in the rain and in the dark and there was something about it to make me think about it all evening. So we went back again new years day and had a proper look round it and from that moment looking at the interior i wanted it so bad.

I paid £250 for the car and the only things wrong with it are:

    needs new alternator
    needs new battery
there is a small water leak
    no mot or tax
    small scratches

    regards

    Adam

                      Nice Monty.
Get it de-locked and Thatcham alarmed with visible stickers.
Disklok is absolutely sound advice, but it only deters someone who wants to steal it and not just randomly break in for the radio or just sheer devilment etc.

Do both - alarms are not foolproof. Everyone ignores them and they can be disabled by someone who knows what they are doing.

The disklok takes at least 45 minutes to remove even with hefty hammers, saws, drills, etc.

Which is why so many people don't bother. A kill-switch in the low tension circuit, with a cunningly sited switch, is an idea many would be wise to adopt. Most opportunist thieves will give up if they have to work at it too long.

                              thats my old car!

i heard from a mate in portsmouth that it was for sale on a forecourt in gosport for months or even longer, they originally asked for about £1600 and then just let it sit there letting the tax and mot run out while nobody bought it
