Big thanks to Sussex Pete for supplying me with the correct ECU. Another job ticked off the list

Is ADU 8499 found in both maestro and montego ?

Electronic control for a turbo is ADU8499, the one in your picture is for a 1.6 Maestro. Once you've changed that check the O rings on the auto choke as they perish with age. You will need Viton replacements that are widely available

The Auto Chokes aren't as bad as often made out. I'll check to see what numbers mine has written on it, but I would be surprised if that isn't the correct one. The other 2. lire MGs had fuel injection and no carb so the auto choke would have been completely different.

    Maestro turbo auto choke

How many of you turbo owners have converted to manual choke vs keeping the original system ?
In my quest to get mine working I’ve come across the first hurdle of finding it’s got the wrong ECU, I’m guessing it needs to be a turbo specific one before I can start proper fault finding or just bin it off and convert to manual
After some thoughts and opinions please
Working...
