  • Ledbury Maestro Replacement Clutch Kit

I have a 1300 petrol Ledbury Maestro (Clubman) with 5-speed gearbox/- kitted about 1995 and DVLA test V5C 1999. The clutch/ has failed and I have found a new replacement clutch kit on ebay bay but I want to check if the part is correct before getting the garage to start replacing it. The replacement clutch is National CK9020 is this the correct part?

I did a quick check and that National number fits all 1.3 Maestros up to 1995 (also 1.6MG Maestros) also Golf, Jetta & Sirocco. My advice is to already dismantle existing clutch and compare with proposed part before buying.

Thank you very much I have found trying to find the exact part / part number very difficult. The problem is that current parts databases do not recognise the VIN as issued by the DVLA on the 5VC document for the Ledbury Maestro. I had hoped that I could get the part number and the clutch kit before the housing is dismantled as space is a premium at the local garage. After looking again Haynes manual for the Maestro 1983-1995 indicates 1.3 Litre with 4 or 5 speed gearbox has a clutch dia of 4.76 in (190 mm) so the code CK9020 may not be correct.

I did buy the two clutches and the 190 mm clutch was fitted successfully. Before the car was taken into the garage I went through the relevant Haynes manual (Green Austin / Rover /MG) Maestro 1.3 & 1,6 1983 to 1995 Petrol, in the Supplement section 12*8 (later models) The clutch disc diameter is given for 1.3 litre models with 4 or or 5 speed gearbox as (190 mm) which is correct.

Please see above post in the Haynes manual the inch sizes have a Typographic error the inch size is given as 4.78 in. but it should be 7.48 inches.
