    What are the old unipart numbers for Montego 1.6 1988 clutch .

    New part number URF008083EVA Rimmers have them at under £30.

    Old part number is (I think but can't remember) GCK401AF

      Simon.Someone on ebay has GCK148AF and someone else has it as GXK148AF are these the correct ones
      Also can you link to the rimmer part please

        The GXK apparently iis a remanufactured clutch

          I got the same one three weeks ago from the same seller.I fitted it last week to my 1.6l and it is fine makes it lot better to drive

            Good buy and good recommendation! I've never encountered a GXK prefix before, so that might explain it (or that X is next to C on the keyboard...).GCK =(all Unipart stuff had a G prefix) CK for Clutch Kit.

            Check before fitting that none of the reluctor teeth are bent inward as a result of it being dropped at some point.

              Unipart clutch arrived this morning and cars booked in thursday to have it fitted
              The guy sent 2 clutches as i had said i may want another as a spare.However he sent a motoquip one on the pressumption that i wanted it .I would have wanted another unipart one the same as the one i paid for so iam not paying for it .Lets see what he sugests

                Check inside the box, could well be exactly the same part.

                There are two clutch sizes I seem to recall on the VW box. So long as you have the right one then all will be well.

                  All ok so far .Simon How do you find out what size the clutch is seeing as there is two sizes for a vw box,I seam to remember i previously had a wrong sized rover one URF008082EVA As another garage wouldnt fit this so went out anf fitted another brand in 2011.That number is one out of what you mentioned in your previous post
                  Therefor what dose this belong to ;URF008082EVA ? As i would like to sell it

                    There are 2 sizes of clutch - 190mm and 200mm. No idea of the application of URF8082 yet

                      8082 was for the 1.3
                      8083 was for the 1.6 so I suspect that is the bigger one for the VW box.
