  • Cylinder-head info, please...

If the R-series 1.6 engine with the two-webers in MG use has better-breathing ports, does this head fit straight onto the later S-block? Or does the fact the R-engine is chain-drive cam etc mean there are enough diffrences to stop them being interchangeable?

Is anyone still racing a 1.6 in the Maestro race championship, if so, can someone suggest a good engine builder?

Have you considered switching to a nasp o series? seems it will be better from standard, less messing around. There will be more parts and possibly more tweaks to be made.

The R series head WON'T fit onto the S series block, as its has a chain driven cam and the S has a belt. The S was developed from the R series so there may be some similarities though.

There are twin webber setups for both the R series and the S series engines.

The S series are the ones you are looking for.
