...and the rears won't work unless they are connected to the switches in the rear door as well as those in the dash switch unit.

        Window wireing

So far i havent found any multi plugs hideing behind the dash or door pillers or any conection to the back of the fuse box. May be the estates are different. So iam going to make up my own loom to fit .All the windows will have to work from the drivers door bucket for my ease of use.yes i know hard work:laugh:

That sounds like a useful mod. As it stands, the window switches are a bit of a stretch when they are below the radio. Door bin mounted ones are preferable for many reasons.

My Montego Advantage didn't have ANY spare plugs anywhere on the car. The wires for any additional electrics, mirrors, windows, were not in the fuse box either so you may not have any 'extra' wiring

The mk3 switch location is better for reach and for wiring being located in the centre consol either side of the handbrake. If you can find one in a scrapyard the sub loom goes accros the passanger footwell to a control box above the glovebox.

Where would the switches go IF a maestro had rear electric windows?

If a face-lift later model the switches would sit at the rear of the centre console in the blank cut outs , before that they would sit in the rear door cards in a plastic holder

Thank you Jeff, don't suppose you have any pictures of the locations? I've looked through old sales brochures but no pictures.

This is early and you will also need a 5 switch unit
