Hi David. Firstly great to speak to you over the weekend. As i mentioned did manage to get a few pattern filters from DMGRS, which i hope should be OK. At least they should be better than using one of the smaller filters. The Maestro Turbo doesnt get a good thrashing any more, although it desereves getting...

As further info to this oil filter question, have heard (true or not) that the Diesel Montego/Maestro oil filter is the larger size and can be used as a suitable replacement for the Petrol Turbo variants. Have nothing to substantiate this so what is the opinion.

Hi Jeff. Just spoken to DMGRS and have ordered a couple of filters. Apparently they are not original Rover/MG filters but are exactly the same. As long as they do the job.
On speaking to them they seem a great bunch of guys and may even be able to locate some other hard to find parts.
    Thanks...

Looks good Jeff. Hopefully these will do the job. As the T series engine is not as old as the Maestro/ Montego Turbo Engine, then hopefully they should still be fairly readily available.

Hi Pete. Just read your input about oil filters, are you saying that original spec oil filters are no longer available. I know when you saw my car you said it had the wrong size oil filter on it. What are the implications of using the wrong size oil filter?

  • Thanks Jeff. Will be persuing the screen through the Small Claims Court, but just wanted to get my car away from there. Am so disapointed in them as they have done some great work, like solving the not starting issue i had when i first got the car, and some other quite tricky issues. It just seems as...

  • Hi Guys. Thank you all for the advice and suggestions.
Will be looking into to these, and let you know.
Most of the work would be just servicing and any mechanical problems that may come up.
Luckily #384 doesnt need any bodywork, well, none that i can see.
