  • UNF or Metric nut?

I need to get a new nut to fit an anti roll bar link. Only problem is I don't know what nut to get. I don't even know if a 1989 Maestro would use metric or UNF thread? The thread itself is 13mm in diameter, not sure of nut size. I am assuming it will need to be a lock nut?

    Any help gratefully received.

It is metric from memory. Almost all the nuts and bolts on the maestro are metric.

A nyloc nut is probably the best option with a suitable washer.

I doubt the thread is 13mm diameter. I would guess it is more likely a 10mm or 12mm diameter (which would be M10 or M12 respectively as I think the thread pitch is standard).

If you are lucky I am trying to find one in my garage tonight/this weekend to send away for re-manufacture, so I'll measure the thread and diameter then so you can be sure to get the right think.
