    I bought a new unit that lives in the glove box and it does run better but it's did get warm driving around

    The hoses didn't feel hard so I think the stat is ok.

    This Sunday I will mostly be montego !!

      Now that the fuel ECU is doing what it should then you can retune the carburettor to get it running right.
