  • [Wanted] Ignition lock and steering column cowl

    Hi all,

My 1984 1.3L has been the victim of an unsuccessful theft, unfortunately leaving me needing the above. It's an early car, with a dark blue cowl, but at a push any colour would do as it's better than leaving it exposed.

The whole lock casing has been cracked, so I need the whole thing, rather than just a barrel.

I'm in Leeds and would be happy to collect.

    Thanks in advance,
    Jonathan

Oh I'm sure I have a steering column somewhere inthe garage with lock and key if you are stuck for one? (I'd need to find it first but I'm sure there is one in there somewhere).

I know its a bit late for the suggestion now, but a good disclok is the best deterant to stop someone trying to do the same again. They are expensive but not easily removed and you can use it on your next car also.

Thanks for the link gharper - I'll keep it in mind if I can't find one elsewhere.

Hi ETV - yes that's the one, unfortunately the switch is now swinging free...
If you manage to find the column, yes please let me know.

The first thing I did was get a Disklok and curse how naive I'd been!

                  isnt this Bounty blue interior?

£150 would give you ignition, door locks and cowling and a few left over bits

Great find but not good for me logistically!

It's blue enough - at the moment any colour would do... but as ETV mentioned it's the early type with the headlamp switch in the side. Not sure how the late type differs as I haven't got one for reference!

Have spotted a couple of Metro locks on eBay if anyone can tell me if they're the same please?

I was considering it as a front door donor for my EFi, but it's logistically bad for me, too.

Hi Jason/lordcamperman, sorry I missed your post - is it just a barrel or the whole lock assembly you have? The actual metal casing has been cracked on mine.
