[Wanted] 1.6 S-series engine

A friend of mine has taken ownership of the ex-Practical Classics Montego 1.6 (the beige one) and is looking for a healthy 1.6 S-series to drop straight in so that he can get some use out of the car while he takes his time rebuilding the original engine.

Cheers, but I have now insured the car so it can be used. Therefore the 1.6 wont be available from my estate for the moment.

hi,i have an s series that for at least 12 months will not be using due to other things going on, you are more than welcome to use it if I can have it back for my maestro project as and when I get around to it, you will need to swap your sump and I believe flywheel,as it is from an auto, [ps] im going on holiday Thursday so let me know and can arrange after that , regards nd

Only problem is that it will not be me using it: I have started this thread on behalf of a non club member/non forum user and although I have known him a long time, I would hate to be stuck in the middle of any problems. But if you want me to pass your number on to Ian and discuss it between yourselves, I am happy to do so.
