its a shame the club does not have some made at a sheet metal place.
or is it the amout needed to make a order up to keep the cost down

A few years back the club looked into having them remade.

A firm said they could do them to exact spec, but the person dealing with it on behalf of the club asked for an initial price based on 10 units.

This worked out to be an initial cost for the first 10 @ (IIRC) 62.00 each.

When asked why they could not have asked for a higher amount, say 100 units , the answer was that the club could not risk being left with a large amount no one wanted.

At the time a census was carried out on both this forum and Triple-m.
Minimum interest was for a total in excess of 70 units, with members of both willing to pay the full Rover price of 18.72 each.

Suffice to say, the order was never increased, or placed.

Well today is your lucky day Mal, the club are on the look out for a new spares person, and as you often have such strong opinions on the matter, why don't you put your money where your mouth is and sign up?

                A Question was asked:
its a shame the club does not have some made at a sheet metal place.
or is it the amount needed to make a order up to keep the cost down
I answered it factually, without prejudice or malice.

I am not, nor have I ever been a member of this club, nor am I likely to be for other reasons.

During my early association with this club, I was asked on a number of occasions to join and help with the committee.

I declined as I did not have the time to offer, when others did.

Taking into account the above, which is still the same as it was back then, I must decline your offer.

I would have stated "Kind offer" but the wording of your message negates the use of such a descriptive.

BIGDAVE - we discussed this just last year and the conclusion was that there was not enough demand for it, but of course its always reviewed

                  http://maestro.org.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=18105

the particular event that Mal is referring to with the MOQ issue certainly pre-dates my involvement with the committee of the club and refers to the 'rover price' which dates this episode to no later than 2006.

Montego estate and maestro hatch share the same fuel filler pocket.

Only the van and Montego Saloon had different ones.

So you where correct in your initial description.

Part No. CDP2207 is a "Cowl - fuel filler pocket" and it has application to both Maestro 5 door hatchback and Montego Estate. It will therefore fit either vehicle.

The fuel filler flaps are also the same across the above mentioned cars where a lid lock was specified. This is CDP2232. Earlier models do not have a lock, or provision to stow the filler cap inside the flap.
