[Wanted] Montego, 1.6 thermostate housin

Hi all as some of you may know I have purchased Andys 1.6 Montego. Currently said car is running without a thermostate. One bolt has sheared in the housing. I dont want to try removing other bolt untill I have spare housing. Does anyone have a thermostate housing or know where I can get one? On the positive side the boot now opens from inside the car! Oh does anyone have a timing belt kit for said car also? J reg 1991. Thank you mike.arrgcc@gmail.com

I got one from rimmers when the housing cracked on my diesel. It wasn't listed as a maestro thermostat housing on their site, just a generic water pipe elbow, was less than £10 delivered

Best give them a call and explain what you need, be in front of a computer when you do, so you can look up the part numbers they suggest!

I will do so thank you. I did look at rimmers but i did look under what i needed!. I i will phone and quiz them. Hopefully the housing will be the same as what i need.

All of these bits are unique to the 1.6 S Series engine from 1984-1992, The Thermostat elbow dome shaped thingy is unique to post October 1988 models on both Maestro and Montego.

Thank you. After I posted that mesaage, I did manage to phone rimmer brothers. I bought what I hope is the correct bit and should have it by next week all being well. The chap I spoke to actually seemed to know what I was talking about. He did say bottom part unavailable. All being well the top bit I will just need.
