  • Broadfield Motor Bodies, Heywood

At Tatton today we got chatting to the owner of a very nice A reg Mk3 Escort Ghia, which it turns out had had some body repairs - you'd never tell! It was some of the best bodywork I've seen in a long time, and was carried out at a very competitive price by Norman Kenyon. I would certainly recommend that anyone in the North West gives him a call if they need anything doing!

Thanks - always good to know a good bodyshop - and it's fairly local to me.

        That's handy to know.
There's another one in Chorley which I know is very good.
It would be more helpful if I could remember its name.

            I'd avoid Central Bodyshop, Chroley.

I tried to get a quote for work on my HL there a few years ago after good things heard about the place. Totally disinterested in even looking over the car. Once I went they were too busy to look, and after making an appointment to go back to have a detailed inspection I received a five minute look over in the carpark.

Needless to say I went somewhere else that showed a bit of enthusiasm!

Incidentally, after owning an ex Cliff Ball MG Montego alleged to have had a 'full resotration' at Central Bodyshop, Chroley...it transpired it was full of filler and glass fiber. I can't say where or when that was added to the car, but if this place was worth it's salt, they'd have told him not to bother patching up a wreck, surely?

Never used them myself, mainly because of the logistics of getting to and from the place. They came highly recommended by another member though. Their work on his car was stunning, as I have witnessed first hand.
