I could think of a few places where an Omega could go! Maybe this Montego might tempt you to come up with a solution sooner than you thought lol!!!

Viewed it today as im working 5 miles from it. In a word ROUGH...

Loads of paperwork to back up the mileage. Sills plated front and rear on drivers side. Engine has no knocks but hunts massively.
Current owner hasn't even used it enough to put fuel in yet.
Dash has a big crack. Body work is still covered by moss and green stuff.
Spare tyre flat, new plugs fitted.

He bought it to be used as a van by his brother who lives in Wales, brother changed hid mind hence it now being for sale.

I could think of a few places for an Omega to go also! Esp the one sitting beside my Marina rite now! Namely Gum tree spares or repairs. Flaming Auto boxes! Sounds a bit too rough and far away for me me thinks. Didnt say all of the above on the ebay listing. Id ge murdered very slowly and delibaratly if i turned up with that me thinks!

Well it's a good job Lee went and looked at this car then, another case of always sounding better in the ad than in the flesh so good job it's been seen.

As for you being murdered slowly and deliberately for turning up home with it, I think that option is still favourable over than keeping an Omega At least then you'd have a car you'd be happy enough to be seen dead in!!!

She'll change her mind and soon come round to liking Montego's again once she's seen a nice one and been in a long enough drive in one, just like my other half did when I picked KGM up from Taunton. The fact it was a bloody long walk back for her with no money meant she had to like it!!!
Get yourself the right Montego to start with is what I say! As for the rest of the womens mind thing, worry about the other stuff after your purchase!

Problem aswell is that Gumtree is full of scammers, anyone seen offering an Omega in exchange for pound notes would clearly be a very dubious advert by an unsavoury seller!!!

I really don't see how you can find them ugly - I find myself gazing out of the window they are such handsome beasts!! All three of those Montis would be worth your attention should you manage to shift said barge!!

I dont find them ugly at all!. I like and always have liked Montis!. Said barge was bought at the time as the jeep had slight rust problems, i knew who was selling it and he offered me it cheap as he needed space asap, and we need a winter car and a tow car. Annoylingly it still does what it was bought for. Just the gearbox problem which it would appear is very common with them and with Volvos with the same box. Even before that i struggled to give it away. High insurance and road tax it would appear. Keep trying i suppose.

All joking aside, I did previously own three Vauxhall Omega's, the last one being a 2.5 V6 CDX and at the time they were a lovely car but were always overshadowed by anything else, except the Ford Scorpio. They are a cheap car now and as that purpose in life they are'nt that bad when you look at one in this way. Although they are'nt worth anything nowadays but someone will be out there for it! I can't stand them now, but then I can't stand anything produced by Vauxhall anyway.

What 3 Montego's do you have in mind then or what have you been offered? Can't be doing too bad if you have 3 to pick and choose from atleast.

If you don't have any joy in getting rid of the Omega in exchange for some folding Nelsons then you might do better with offering a free hosepipe with it...!!!!

There are two up here north of the border that I would imagine are in the three - the lovely Gold Mayfair and Aldos Rover 1.6LX on a J plate - which he is now offering for 500 quid I think with 6 months tax - I think they are both still for sale! Third would be a guess.......
