Is there any difference between Flame Red and Flame Red '89? Which was used on the Turbo? Both are sold at my local Hellfords.

Flame Red
Turbos have the paint code COF. It is possible that the flame red used as late as 1995 on the MGF is slightly different. 1988/89 is when they launched it so Halfords may call it that so it is not confused with Targa that was used on Austin Rover cars previously.
There are several BRGs depending on age including solids, metallics and pearlescents.

They are both the same code but Flame Red 89 is the correct one for the Turbo, as it would be for any Maestro sprayed in Flame in that year. Flame after that time seems to be darker and not quite as bright.Originally posted by M170 RFAIs there any difference between Flame Red and Flame Red '89? Which was used on the Turbo? Spray paints and touch-up pens ready
I am now ready to send out the paint that people have expressed interest in. If you have contacted me already you will receive an e-mail today with instructions. I have devised a form for people to fill in to make it easier for me to process the orders and ensure you get exactly what you want.
In addition to the spray cans which are £2 plus 80p postage, I have a large batch of touch-up pens which are 50p plus 20p postage. These usually retail at £2 so it is a massive saving and many of the colours are NLA in touch-up paints. The list is below.
E-mail me with what you want - matthewsemple@hotmail.com - before sending off the order forms so I can reserve the paint for you.
If you are picking up the paint at MG Saloon Day then please still send me your cheque as I will be very busy on the day and it will enable me to put your paint to one side in a plastic bag with your name on.

tony (£7-50)
Please remember to come and see me and pick up the paint you have paid for or ordered. I have attached a picture so you can recognise me if you have not met me before.
The unsold paint will also be availble on Sunday at £2 a can or 50p for a touchup paint.
This is of course a shameless plug for the "MG Saloon Day" polo shirts which will also be on sale on Sunday!
