Dunno, I'd like to have been at the board-meeting where they decided that hiding the heater-controls behind the steering-wheel was a good idea. The Maestro got stuck with them like that for nearly forever.

I for one thought the wraparound rear windows were rather innovative. What other saloon car of the time provided such good rear visibility?

I quite like them there tbh - it means passengers can't meddle with the settings. As some passengers of mine (Naming no fathers) are wont to try and do where possible...

Hmm. Better than having to reach over to the passenger side a la Mk1? With the correct (2 spoke) steering wheel the Mk2 heater controls are pretty visible.

What used to happen in our car is the driver would feel around blindly for the controls, swear at it, and so I, the passenger, would do it. MGT#396 has the Roverised dash so thankfully no problems now.

You should have been in the new ford focus meeting too, my head/fog light controls are hidden behind the stearing wheel (and my right knee)... Maybe the designer is paying homage to the M/M lol
