Try a Mini, MG or Morris Minor specialist for the oil filler cap. It looks very similar to the type used on the A-series before they started using the breather cap in the late 1960s.

Or you might be lucky enough to find somebody breaking an Allegro or Maxi 1500/1750.

Thanks so much guys! Someone has been kind enough to sell me a brand new cam cover with oil cap attached at a steal of a price which arrived today ive sorced a carb and tanks too. The old carb is now off, and a lot of molten plastic is chiseled off. Just trying to get the inlet manifold off at the mo. The bolt under the manifold are now coated in molten plastic and i cant see them!

That cap is from a Maxi or Allegro E-Series engine because it has the wire. Is it attached to the rocker cover? If so that is also from an E-Series. I think they fit okay though.

If you need a bonnet, I know someone who has some new ones at £50 each.

The E-series cover would fit, but it does not have the location for the fuel pump, as the fuel pump on the E-series sits on the block under the distributor. Likewise an E-series head would fit.

Well thanks to some great guys on here, sogy is nearly done now. Im waiting on delivery of a fuel pump, and an air filter box. I believe i can use one from an a series so anyone who has one please let me know. I have got a carb from a 1.6 s series auto, and have so far worked out inlet and vent. I also know the remaining one is for the breather. Anyone know where bit must be connected to? Does it need connecting? If its not being used do i need to block it?
                  Thanks to you all
