I don't suppose you realise the inconsitency of asking what it's worth, then putting a price tag of a grand on it in the same posting? I can't see even a concours winner fetching more than 750, and well-looked after examples if as good as you suggest might fetch 300-450 on a good day depending if anyone's actually looking for one. Most of the peeps on this forum already have sufficient (understatement in some cases!), eBay in mid-Jan might be your best bet. What value does Parkers give these days?

Cheers for the advice. Im glad someone replied. I cant believe a concourse one would only be £750 worth. I was hopeing it could go to a good home. Im not actually asking £1000 for it, it was just to see if i could get a reply. This just seemed a good place to sell it.

You could try placing an ad on the classifieds section of the MG'M' Group.

It's free and lasts a month unless you update it. You'll find a link from the M&MOC website if you don't already know it.

              Steve,

how about "unable to take on" or, "cannot afford to take on" or ," don't have the room to take on"

One or all of these reason's, will be why no-one has come forward as yet to buy/ rescue either of the car's you are refering to.

If you take a look at my sig, you will see that i have my hand's full as it is!,
and so are many other's who frequent this board.

You've also got to consider the time of year, not only is it practically christmas, but we are all expecting to get the biggest utility bills of the year!(being the winter quarter most if not all heating bills increase by 1/3rd ,if not more)

              Mal.

Steve, as the old saying goes, why don't you put your money where your mouth is? I don't see you stepping forward to heroically rescue all these cars you think should be rescued.

Aswell as the MGM classifieds you could advertise it on our classifieds too. If you send me a PM with the details then I'll put it up for you.

Also there is our club magazine which should be out in january which has a classifieds section.

Also consider e-baying it. You can't guarentee that'll it'll go to an enthusiast but it might be worth a thought.

If it is as nice as it sounds then post some pictures up for people to see, as a picture is worth a thousand words so they say.

Yes some pictures would be good. If you do have some pictures, we can put them up along side your advert on the classifieds part of the site to make it more prominent if you so wish.

A fine example went for 333 quid on Ebay recently .... to an enthusiast who posted about it on one of the sites. Not seen pictures of your car but, I'd be pleased if it's in better shape than that ebay one.

Last year, someone down in Bristol obtained a genuine 14,000 mile B reg MG Montego (digital dash ) example which was in startlingly good condition - I believe he only paid 800 quid for it. It attended a recent MG SD and was much admired. There's a picture of this car somewhere I'll try to find it.

That 333 is what I think you could expect to get for your car if its in similar condition. The mileage helps, but these old O series engines mileage is not that important - they nearly ALWAYS outlast the car - it's the condition of the rest of the car which is of greater importance.

Despite having my own fleet of similar cars, including a couple of better examples, provided it is in good shape - await pictures and location (no mention of MoT? or have I missed that) I'd certainly be tempted at a much more realistic figure.....
