  • Silver leaf time warp Monty has arrived! - 56k Warning Heavy Pics

As requested, please see some new pics of what I can only describe as the most pristine Montego I have seen in the last 10 years, no exaggeration! You will notice that the spot of rust on the rear arch, is the only rust to be found on the entire car. This car has never been welded or had any body repairs. It has been MOT'd and serviced at a Rover Dealer that sold it new in 1986 and they are most excited that the car will be coming in for its new MOT tomorrow (the car is locally registered). What do you think?? Stunner isn't she! For those of you on dial-up, these pics may take a minute or two to load.

MONTEGO - THE CAR THAT PUTS THE DRIVER FIRST

Jeez! That's some car you have there, Ed.

Just look inside that fuel filler flap - as you say, not a spot of rust. It's also really nice to see an early S-Series engine. Are you going to clean the engine bay up? Looks like it has some serious concourse potential!

    Well spotted and saved.

Oh yes, will be cleaning up the engine bay as soon as the 58K engine has been serviced, its more dusty than dirty/oily.

I've had over 30 Montys now but even I was stunned by this one. I can't get my head round how so many rotted to pieces, yet this one doesn't even know the meaning of the word "rot". It is a real credit to its previous owner.

                          I am...lost for words!

If you can get the engine bay to shine like the outsides, and treat the minimal scab on the arch, you have a sure fire concourse winner!

It couldn't have gone to a better home either! I am really looking forward to seeing it at shows.
