After careful consideration of your comments and the facts surrounding this contravention

although it doesn't say so I suspect the cancelation is due to the reason for the contravention, not the badge on the car, either way, well done for standing up to the man.

Simon is absolutely right - any error on a parking ticket renders it invalid. If you write back and point it out they will have to let you off!
