  • Maestro weight loss

What kind of weight would a stripped out maestro be? Not interested in track days - but I do have a passion for drag racing. Run what you bring days is the main drive behind my #385 build. Just wondering what the power to weight ratio be at a given bhp for a maestro? I have online calculator that seems to do the job - but like I said if I have some figs it'll give me some idea what to expect?

    cheers

    mike...

It really depends on how far you are willing to go. The old MG race championship had a minimum weight in it (can't remember what it is), but it was routine for them to have to carry ballast to achieve this weight.

Whether you have cage or not will make a big difference too.

No interior, no extra seats, no dash, no heater, no sound deadening, no sunroof, plastic windows and it'll weigh very little. Remember that the turbo bumpers weigh a fair amount too.

          Thank's Dan.

Don't want to go crazy - just trim-seats-door cards removed and no rollcage.

High 12sec could be possible according to this online calculator here...

Correct. With the cage and T16 engine the Gooon weighed about 750kg. To acheave that, it has been totally gutted including cutting away the insides of the doors ect so that might be a little more extreme than what you would be going for.
