Some diecast models such as yours can go from anything between £10 - £100 each depending on rarity, condition and wether or not they have the original box's etc.

I would check out completed listings on ebay, as well as google-ing the various rarer models.

Using google etc, usually finds specialist toy auction's that let you check out previous sale prices without logging in or paying to join.

I have recently sold some early Bburago cars I had, and a few sold well, and others for a tenner.

Also depends on wether or not you sell the display shelving with them.

Well if someone wanted the whole lot I would let them have the display cabinet. I may stick it on ebay as it is but Im not sure of what kind of reserve to put on it.

Without seeing them all in detail, I would guess a good start would be to start at say £15 x however many you have.

So 20 cars would be £300, I would list them as a fixed price or best offer with (if it lets you) a Buy it now which includes the display.

The Colin Mcrae cars I would list seperately, as they will likely be bought by fans or serious collectors.

Any signed or limited edition with certs should also be listed seperately.

As Mal says, rarity, condition and whether you still have all the boxes (amazingly, some boxes can be worth more than the models that sit in them!) are key factors in determining a value. Also the manufacturer of the model can as well (e.g. Burrago, AutoArt and Kyosho being some of the more noted manufacturers) and the scale they are finished in.

I believe there is a lot of interest in motorsport models with intact liveries etc. eBay is a reasonably good place to check out prices, as are a few magazines such as the Model Collector which attract adverts from reputable dealers. Obviously do your homework first and do put a reserve price on them, if selling on an auction website. A further avenue to consider is attending a 'swap meet' near you and having an informal chat with some of the traders and asking what they might sell for (rather than the price they would buy them off you for if you offered them).

Admittedly my own collection of 58 out of 69 1:43 Vanguards Rover saloons and various 1:18 AutoArt Range Rovers is too much for me to display, so most are currently packed away until I one day find enough room to enable me to put up a display cabinet (wishful thinking!).

            Hope this helps.

They are probably worth more than you think. A pity a wife has inflicted on you what is such a harmless persuit - sell the wife! (or offer to clean them yourself).

You could do a lot worse than contact Chris Derbyshire of the Historic Rally Car Register who writes a column for the club magazine, Old Stager, on model rallycars and is probably the best walking-expert on the topic, he will no doubt be at Race Retro (the Stoneleigh Show) this weekend.
Or send an email to the hrcr and ask for it to be forwarded on.

Very hard to place a value, the model market can be so fickle. Some cars can be worth loads more than a seemingly identical model down to something as trivial as the placement of a sticker. Basicly the less of a varient produced the more money its worth.
It doesnt follow that the rarer car is worth the most, it could be that on of yor focus' is worth far more than the very rare real BX 4TC
Incidently i have the same cabinet full of diecast too. Some 1-43 rally cars and vanguards
