Rover L series starting problems checklist?

The idler pulley (or tensioner pulley as I ordered it, I take it they are the same thing?) was £64 and I think the bloke said the belt was £20 so not that expensive depending which way you look at it. Rang the local motor factors up at 9 and he had them in stock so me mother will go and collect them while i am at work, hopefully my mate will have time to fit them tomorrow, hope he doesn't mind getting wet lol. Don't think the cambelt has broke or jump as the engine runs fine (once its started!!!) but the cambelt and fuel pump belt should arrive in the next few days so these can be changed.

Well i would like to report that after my mate fitted the new timing belt for the fuel pump two weeks ago the freelander now turns over straight away and only took 2-3 seconds when it was minus silly last week.
