Window stickers from the 80s and 90s

Does anyone remember stickers used on cars during this period which the first word began with Auto? I can't remember whether its Autodata or Autolock. Its about car securities I remember them being very popular during the 90s.

Does anyone remember the name?

autolock - there's a sticker for one on my Avenger windscreen, but I certainly wouldn't use one - they were crap!

Were they the orange things that connected the brake pedal to steering wheel? If so you're right, they were crap!!

no these were the crap yellow ones that connected between gear stick and handbrake...

to remove you needed the key .... or if you didn't have it - just unscrew the gear knob and take it off that way

Didn't those Autolocks come with a separate collar that you had to attach to the gear stick that prevented it from being removed even if you unscrewed the gear knob?

they probably did -I can't remember, I doubt it'd be much of an obstacle even with one fitted...


We had a Mk2 Cavalier which had an autolock fitted, it was stolen back in Summer 1995 and burnt out.

thankfully things have moved on and diskloks are the way forward!!

Yep Yellow sticker for your window, also if used properly the gear knob wont come off because it came with a glue to hold the knob in place if you were able to unscrew it and a seperate colar to stop it being turned.
