  • Car transportation required

    Hi all.

Any one know of any one that can offer Maestro transportation from Peterborough to St Albans (Cambridgeshire to Hertfordshire), 75miles.

After something affordable so I can set about restoring my Turbo in a month or so.

    Cheers,

    Ian

Something I'm looking at too - only been 10 years so far for me hehe. I've found a few googling "car transportation" but was surprised to see the AA offers this. I'm waiting on a few quotes back - the AA quote was instant http://www.theaa.com/move-my-car but I wouldn't be happy if they mean towing on spectacles instead of a flatbed.

I got a quote for £180. Another option I have thought about is simply hiring a trailer, £60 for 36 hours. I can then get a family member with a towbar to take it. It looks like most cars will be allowed to tow a trailer and Maestro as long as the trailer is braked.

I passed my test in '97 so limits my options - my misses can drive a 7 Ton with trailer. I can drive a car and milk float hehe. Trailer law is horrendous but I've found this to be the 'simplest' guide http://www.campingandcaravanningclub...e/areyoulegal/

I was thinking of hiring a trailer until I realised I would have to drive it 160 miles back. If your towing it cover the plate up so the ANPR robots don't think your driving untaxed / uninsured etc.

If I get a cheap quote I'll let you know

Try www.shiply.co.uk you get various quotes and usually get it down to around £1 per mile
