The Austin Longbridge Federation (ALF) has recently issued a statement saying that they hope another party can be found to take over the future running of Pride of Longbridge, as it has now grown to become a much larger event than they expected or can manage, and has also become a car rally - again, something they did not plan.

ALF will continue to work with any interested parties but have chosen the time wisely to advise that they are not able to continue running this type of event given the size of it and amount of planning and work it now commands. This does give any interested parties adequate time to work with ALF and plan for future events.

Hopefully a cross-party of enthusiasts and willing helpers will come forward (hopefully not just from one car club who might dominate the format and potentially compromise the spirit of PoL), ensuring we will continue to enjoy meeting up informally in the stunning environment of Cofton Park for this amazing event. It really is the highlight of the motoring calendar for me, mainly because of its friendly and light-hearted ambience, no hard and fast rules or overbearing jobsworths doing the stewarding.
