Remember when Top Gear used to do features on things other than unobtainable supercars? Those graphics in the start titles and the theme song? Jeremy Clarkson with big hair?

I have links here for the first three episodes of Top Gear aired in 1989. It's really interesting viewing. All are full episdoes and have features such as the confusion surrounding the recent introduction of Super Unleaded Petrol, group tests of the Lancia Thema, Saab 9000 and Alfa 164, Skoda Favorit first test and a bit about the revival of the Tour of Britain, which features a few shots of MG Maestros!

Chris Goffey's report makes me want to go out and buy a Skoda Favorit. Somehow I just can't imagine the current Top Gear team being so nice about such a car if it was produced today!
