  • Brake Discounts

The Maestro and Montego owners club is pleased to announce that it has negotiated a discount on many brake parts and in particular Goodridge braided brake hoses. This offer with www.brakes4u.co.uk gives anyone 10% off of the advertised prices plus free postage. Our full club members also get an extra discount (please e-mail myself, with the subject title "Brake offer", with your surname and membership number to get the necessary information for the extra discount.)

The offer is valid on all products from www.brakes4u.co.uk which includes car brake hoses, discs and pads as well as motorcycle pads, discs, hoses and clutches for those bikers amoung us.

Braided brake hoses give a firmer pedal feel and virtually eliminate the spongey feel that the existing rubber hoses give as they age. As they age they stretch more and more making the pedal feel spongey and reducing braking efficiency. Replacement rubber hoses are around ten pounds a corner from a motorfactor. For a similar price you can now get braided brake hoses which resist stretching far more effectively and should last much much longer. They are also available in stainless steel to avoid corrosion problems and even can be colour-coded in a chioce of colours to match or contrast with your car colour.

These products are available for a wide range of cars not just Maestros and Montegos so take advantage of them while you can.

If you have trouble finding the right hoses the part numbers for the monty and maestro are here:

    Montego http://www.brakes4u.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=SAH0601-4
    Maestro http://www.brakes4u.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=SAH0602-4

£46.53 for non coloured and zinc plated fittings (extra discount for club members)
£61.34 for non coloured and stainless steel fittings (extra discount for club members)
About a fiver extra for coloured lines in a variety of colours.

I have just seen a similar offer elsewhere for less money however I'll point out that goodridge are TUV approved and goodridge have built their reputation on great quality.

The other supplier is listed here for completeness and the choice it of course up to you!

Thanks for the help. All i can find on brakes4u are hose lines for maestro, no pads or discs. I trust goodridge, i used to have their kit on my old mini, but again i can only find the hoses on there for the maestro. ill try my local motor factors tomorrow, they usualy come up trumps. am i right in saying that the 1.8 mgf discs are the same?
