Braided brake hoses give a firmer pedal feel and virtually eliminate the spongey feel that the existing rubber hoses give as they age. As they age they stretch more and more making the pedal feel spongey and reducing braking efficiency. Replacement rubber hoses are around ten pounds a corner from a motorfactor. For a similar price you can now get braided brake hoses which resist stretching far more effectively and should last much much longer. They are also available in stainless steel to avoid corrosion problems and even can be colour-coded in a chioce of colours to match or contrast with your car colour.
