Wind the mixture screw for the MOT, the set it back after.

Or find out why it's out. Good service/tune-up and maybe a fuel treatment additive should sort it unless there's something wrong, I'd've thought the carb would be the first port of call.

The A series with no eco bolt-ons is always going to struggle with the proper cat test I think. (0.3%CO I think rather than the non-cat setup which was supposed to be about 2.5% CO at idle I think).
