I am after a little help Mechanically with my 1.3 engine, it has stopped running properly!!!

It would run fine when it was cold, but when it got up to temperature it looses power and stops!!

I have checked the coil, HT Leads, Distributor cap and rota arm and i'm getting a good spark from all four.

I have checked and have good compression on all 4 cylinders.

I have checked that the fuel is getting to the carburetor and that is all good.

I have taken apart the carburetor and that was all clean with no blockages.

But now i cant get it started at all, i am a little puzzled by this so any help would be welcomed, with both parts where it was only running up to temperature and now why it wont start.

    Many Thanks

    Rob

        Hi RobK

Now that it won't start have you checked for a spark and for fuel to the carb in the same manner as you described in the early part of your first post?

Also what year of manufacture is your 1.3 Maestro?

        Cheers.

G Force, sorry for the slow reply,

There is still a spark and the fuel is still getting into the carb!

The car is on a e plate so 1987

            Hi RobK

I am guessing this is manual choke? Let us know if it is electronic because it could be either.

Have you checked to see if the inlet manifold has come loose as this could account for both issues. Check the float chamber breather pipe has not become blocked.
