Engine problems, does not rise of revolusines

I have troubles with my montego 2.0 XLi.
When I puss the throttle, the engine only go to 2.000 or 3.000 rpm. And make a "ronco" sound.

I Check the gasoline presure, and it don't go down. is 2,5 - 3 psi

I change the air caudalimeter for other and the problem is te same, but I don't konw if it is ok, is a used unit.

Hi I think that either the catalytic converter (if fitted) has melted blocking the exhaust system, or one of the exhaust silencer boxes has collapsed internally due to corrosion causing this problem. If the vehicle is catalyst equipped the engine has probably had a misfire at some time causing the catalyst to overheat and melt the core.
