Welcome to the Maestro and Montego Owners Club. Why not post in the Welcome & Feedback forum and introduce yourself?
its fairly strait forward, you will need a suitable torx driver though to fit the torx screws on the outside, (the screws on the inside are the same size)

first take the top metal plate off, it just levers off and kind of wiggles free of the front.
next take the front face off, to do this remove the 2 torx screws one each side ( there are two each side but remove the ones nearest the face)
pull the 4 round knobs off the front they just pull off
the face is free to pull off now so do it.
the three tape controll buttons will be lose and can be removed now if they havnt already fallen out
now looking at the mechanism (from the top)there are 3 torx screws u need to remove. two at the front and one at the back.do them in any order, the first one is to the right of the motor connected to that tab thats been bent out of the back. the second is behind the screen the 3rd is between the rods that control fast forward/reverse and eject, and is parralel to the one behind the screen
with the three screws removed the cassette deck will be lose, apart from two multiplugs still connected to the printed circuit board (PCB) these are a white one down the left hand side behind the tape switches, carefully pull that up till its lose. the other is a black one which is to the left and down a bit from the motor, pull that up and the tape is free.
and in the words of Mr. JH Haynes refitting is the reverse of removal or whatever he says
now my spare sets in pieces and ive got it to put back together, didnt take long and very easy but can be fustrating trying to get the screws back in but have patience and you will be ok.
hope that helps you
