    Help!
My Maestro Turbo won't boost. There's a noise like a vacuum cleaner then a lot of "chatter". I couldn't find any leaks, so I took the wastegate actuator off the turbo to check it out (the drum shaped bit that sits on the turbo) When air is fed into the inlet pipe it's supposed to move the actuator rod, but the air is escaping past the bush which the shaft runs through. Could this be my problem? The unit seems sealed - can the bush be replaced? Anyone got a spare one for sale?

    Re: Turbo problem

Hi, an air leak in the wastegate actuator diaphragm will cause loss of boost pressure. You will have to replace the actuator, as the unit is not servicable.

The actuator was no good, got a new one from Turbo Technics, Northampton. Also, the noise seems to be caused by the dump valve opening early and preventing boost building up. I'll be looking into that this weekend, should be easy to fix.
      Thanks for the advice.
