  • Diesel blow off problem

Hi I have a turbo diesel Maestro engine in my Land Rover.
My problem is during a run it blows off through the rad cap repeatedly and the heater goes cold.It seems like head gasket but I have had this replced.
It also has new water pump, new radiator. The temp gauge always seems to read normal and never shows "hot".
    Any theories very welcome
    Thanks Jim

If it isn't a faulty rad cap then it does sound like a headgasket problem I'm afraid.

Did you use an FAI gasket by any chance?

If the temp sits in the middle whilst running then it is yet another sign, has all the classic warnings of the dreaded...

It happens to the best of us though, so I have heard!!

The engine is in a landy though so the temp gauge isn't the same. I'd change the thermostat first but I would suspect the headgasket especially if it is an FAI one (I had one fail on me in under 12 months).
